The original line-up of The Animals reunited on three occasions after their split in 1966: |

| 1968 - for a one-off benefit gig in Newcastle, | |
| 1975 - for the "Before We Were So Rudely Interrupted" album, and | |
| 1983 - for the studio album "Ark", a world tour and the "Greatest Hits Live!" album (also known as "Rip It To Shreds"). | |

| It is a commonly held belief that the first reunion of the original members of The Animals was for the LP "Before We Were So Rudely Interrupted" in the mid 1970's. However, Hilton Valentine confirms that the original members actually got together at the City Hall in Newcastle, England in 1968 for a one-off benefit gig for the Percy Hedley Spastic School and the Muscular Dystrophy Group of Tyneside. The 1975 reunion (see below) was however the first time that the original five members of The Animals actually recorded together since Alan Price had left the group in May 1965. | |

| Dionisio Castello notes in his 1991 book "Good Times" that the original band members were supported by Zoot Money (ex Eric Burdon & The Animals in the late 60's), Steve Grant, Nippy Noya and Steve Gregory (a saxophonist who had played with Price and Burdon at the Newcastle City Hall in December 1982 when Burdon guest starred in Alan Price's concert). | |
