| However, the new songs recorded by this band are listed on the Hallmark CD "The Animals" as written by either McCulloch, McCulloch-Chapman or McCulloch-Clifton-Stars-Devanche. | |
| Recordings by a 1990's group formed by ex Eric Burdon & The Animals bassist Danny McCulloch. The band featured none of the original members of THE ANIMALS and only McCulloch from ERIC BURDON & THE ANIMALS. The 1995 Hallmark UK CD release "The Animals" contains the 14 tracks that have been released on numerous CD's around the world since the mid 1990's and often misleadingly marketed by using photos of Eric Burdon, The Animals or Eric Burdon & The Animals. | |
| The liner notes on the 1996 K-Tel CD "The Best Of The Animals" (ECD 3278) indicate that ... "In 1993 .... The Animals re-formed to play a concert in Moscow's Red Square to aid The Children of the Chernobyl Disaster. They were the first band ever to play in Red Square and more than 200,000 fans came to this historic performance. In Moscow the idea for this album was born; combining both new compositions and new digital recordings of their original hits". | |
| Only five of the twelve tracks on the K-Tel "The Best Of The Animals" CD are songs that were originally recorded by The Animals. The CD liner notes specifically tag them as being "tracks that have been re-recorded". Of the remaining six tracks, only the Gibb/Gibb penned "To Love Somebody" was not written solely by McCulloch or by McCulloch with others. | |
| The same twelve tracks in the same order appear on "Best Of The Animals - The House Of The Rising Sun". Ten of these same twelve tracks also appear with additional tracks on AVM's "We Gotta Get Out Of This Place" (AVM), "The Animals" (Hallmark), "The Animals" (Master Tone) and two different versions of "Best Of The Animals". | |
| There has been many CD releases of these same tracks - most of which are very misleading in that the use photos of The Animals or Eric Burdon & The Animals and do not make any mention of the line-up of the 1990's band that actually recorded the tracks that appear on the CD.. | |
