| From around 1998 Kojak started to collect LP's, 45's and CD's of ERIC BURDON's music to add to his fairly limited (but well used) LP and CD collection. This became a frustrating exercise due to the fact that Australian and overseas music retailers and web sites would often only supply the name of the album or single and it's purchase price. Even the basic recording information such as an album title was very often wrong or misleading. | |

Kojak therefore started to make up a list of albums featuring Eric Burdon and was amazed by the number of LP's and CD's that had been released (even after allowing for the fact that many were re-issues and compilations). |

As at January 2003 Kojak has collected some 79 albums (CD's and LP's - four of which are double albums) and 18 singles ... the items in thus collection are summarised at the Kojak's Personal Collection page of this web site. |
| The weakness of the Australian Dollar against the US Dollar has slowed the process - the cost of imported CD's into Australia at an exchange rate of around 50 cents versus the US Dollar in recent years (improved in 2003) has been horrendous! | |

With the amount of data that Kojak had collected (recording details, track listings, LP/EP/CD/45 cover pics, etc), the idea of a reference database on the Internet for use by other Eric Burdon fans was born. |
| Kojak set himself a target of May 2001 to have the web site operational at the time of Eric's 60th birthday (as a tribute to Eric and as a token of Kojak's appreciation of his music). | |
