This bootleg release has no reference number shown on the CD sleeve.
Incorrectly credited on the CD cover to The Animals, this CD actually contains live and TV/radio broadcast recordings by both The Animals and Eric Burdon & The Animals.
AMG Review: In the staunch bootleg tradition, these are the sort of fair-quality TV broadcast and live recordings that will appeal exclusively to the rabid fan. There's actually a better Animals bootleg of such material ("Animalistic"), but if you're enough of a fan to go even further, this is a reasonably interesting, 62-minute anthology of 1965-67 items. There are four songs from their appearance at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967; a couple of tracks each from their appearance at the NME Poll Winner's Concert in 1965 and their spot at the 1965 Richmond Jazz Festival; three '67 numbers from a TV appearance on Germany's Beat Club, two '66 Ed Sullivan cuts; a '65 Hullabaloo song; and a version of "Hey Gyp" used on the soundtrack to Popcorno in 1967 (one of the disc's highlights, actually). Too bad the emcee talks over much of the Richmond Jazz Festival version of "Rosie" (aka "Inside Looking Out"), which is really storming. — Richie Unterberger
