| Originally
recorded for PBS, this video is a nostalgic celebration of one of pop music's most
exciting and prolific eras. Starting with those mop topped Liverpudlians The Beatles' 1964
appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show, the so-called British Invasion became an unstoppable
trend in American music and culture. On this special, some of the greatest bands that rode
this cultural wave showcase their tremendous talent. Hosted by Peter Noone of Herman's
Hermits, this program features nine great bands -- including The Troggs, Eric Burdon and
the Animals, and Freddie and the Dreamers -- and 31 fantastic performances. |
