| When The
Animals split with producer Mickie Most and their label
Columbia, in 1965, they promptly signed with EMI's biggest
rivals Decca Records, appointed American Tom Wilson as
their new producer, and continued their run of success. This compiltion features four
US/UK Top 20 hits, their Top 5 LP Animalisms, and a bonus four tracks
from a rare, limited edition 12", one-sided, pre-Animals EP recorded in 1963
(credited to The Alan Price Rhythm & Blues Combo). |
| Tracks
#1 to #15 were released by The Animals and tracks #16 to #17 by Eric
Burdon & The Animals ("Mama Told Me Not To Come" was actually
recorded by Eric Burdon with Barry Jenkins and studio musicians for the "Eric Is
Here" album). |
| With
a variation in running order and one additional track ("Mama Told Me Not To
Come"), this CD contains the same 21 tracks as the Repertoire "Animalisms" CD
(Germany 1999 - REP 4772-WY) without the stereo versions of "Don't Bring Me
Down", "See See Rider", "Help Me Girl" and "Cheating"
which feature as special bonus tracks 22-25 on that CD. |
| This
CD also contains the same track listing as the 1993 Sequel UK CD "Inside
Looking Out - The 1965-1966 Sessions". |
